Andy Cahan Casual Interview | The Most Famous Musician You’ve Never Heard Of

https://youtu.be/04PSYnPTD-4 — Stories about some of Rock history’s giants told by a man that lived through it all, Andy Cahan. He has recently published an autobiography about his life called “The Most Famous Musician You’ve Never Heard Of.”

We discuss his long career in music including his performances and interactions with Flo and Eddie, Harry Nilsson, Ringo Starr, Jimi Hendrix, Dr. John, Jimmy Carl Black, Jimmy Webb, Frank Zappa, Eric Carmen, Graham Bond and more! Andy has a long list of musical accomplishments including being a “Demo Doctor” that produced demoes for many incredible musicians including Harry Nilsson and Howard Kaylan and music director for the Grammys and American Bandstand. He also performed with Little Richard, Chuck Berry, Geronimo Black, and had a long history with The Turtles Featuring Flo and Eddie.

At one time, he himself was the full backing band for Flo and Eddie and was referred to as the half man. My favorite part of this discussion is around the 56 minute point in which we learn that the posthumous Harry Nilsson album, “Losst and Founnd” may not be as honorable and that Andy produced but is unable to release tapes that Nilsson would likely prefer to be remembered for.
